Day 11 - Sat 12/15/18 - At Sea to Florida - Day 5

We're past the halfway point in our trans Atlantic crossing. Overnight there were harsher seas and a bit more motion. It wasn't enough to keep me awake and I continue to pretty much sleep through the night.

Lance, our EXC guide, was the subject of the coffee chat with Ross, our CD. It was fun and interesting. One key factoid was that for every guest on this size ship, there are 300 other passengers on the same schedule. It's why we tend to see the same people every day. He was followed by Robin Ross presenting on Havana. It certainly increased our itch to visit.

After a sushi lunch we watched another America's Test Kitchen presentation by Drake on cheese sandwiches and turkey soup. It was so delectable, I wanted to rush the stage for a taste!

Don Mings presented his almost hour long session on the British expansion. It was filled with interesting side bar comments.

While we walking our mile up on deck 11 with its view of a mildly wavy ocean and blue skies dotted with clouds and an occasional jet contrail, I was reflecting on our experience on the ship. My conclusion is that this is a nice ship for traversing distances as there are ample and varied things to do and it handles the sea conditions well. If one is just traveling port to port, all that's really necessary are 2-3 meals a day, a place to sleep and some form of evening entertainment. I realize that's a bit simplistic, but I think it's realistic.

For dinner, we enjoyed the Sel de Mer seafood specialty restaurant and Judy Carmichael, the sassy jazz pianist delighted a full house on the World Stage. With 4 nights to go, Ross, our CD, announced we would gain an hour every night until Ft. Lauderdale. He also announced that one of the dance company injured a leg and that person is a key part of the next production show, so tomorrow's World Stage presentation will be a behind the scenes look at the Humanity Show. I look forward to that so I can perhaps understand it. Stay tuned.
